About Google Analytics
Google Analytics is Google's web analytics platform, used to measure traffic and visitor behavior on a huge share of the web.
It typically loads a tag from googletagmanager.com or google-analytics.com that records page views, sessions and referrers, assigning the visitor a long-lived random ID in cookies like _ga and _gid so repeat visits can be tied together.
Google publishes a browser add-on, the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on, that stops its tags from sending data, and Google's My Ad Center lets a signed-in user limit how that data feeds ad personalization.

Understanding this page
- What the tracker categories mean
What "advertising," "analytics," "social," "consent" and the rest actually mean for a company or a cookie, and how CookieTosser decides which one applies.
- First-party vs third-party cookies (and why "first-party" still tracks you)
What the distinction actually means technically, why browsers only block one of the two, and how CNAME cloaking, server-side tagging and cookies like _ga let sites keep tracking under their own domain.
- How to block or limit trackers
Browser privacy settings, content blockers, Global Privacy Control and clearing cookies compared honestly — what each one actually stops, what it doesn't, and what it costs you in return.
