Its cookies typically last about 12 months. On 56% of the sites where it loaded, a consent banner was already present but hadn't been answered yet. It's especially common on .jp sites: 86% of them load it, versus 40% of all sites we scanned.
About Google Ads
Google Ads is Google's advertising platform, running the auctions behind the display and search ads shown across the web and on Google's own properties.
It typically loads scripts from googlesyndication.com or doubleclick.net that serve ad creative, track clicks and conversions, and frequency-cap or retarget ads based on prior visits. On sites that use it, it's often the largest single source of third-party requests before consent.
Google's My Ad Center lets a user see and limit ad personalization, and Google participates in the Digital Advertising Alliance's AdChoices opt-out program.

Understanding this page
- What the tracker categories mean
What "advertising," "analytics," "social," "consent" and the rest actually mean for a company or a cookie, and how CookieTosser decides which one applies.
- First-party vs third-party cookies (and why "first-party" still tracks you)
What the distinction actually means technically, why browsers only block one of the two, and how CNAME cloaking, server-side tagging and cookies like _ga let sites keep tracking under their own domain.
- How to block or limit trackers
Browser privacy settings, content blockers, Global Privacy Control and clearing cookies compared honestly — what each one actually stops, what it doesn't, and what it costs you in return.
